 Devlog 1: Beginning Our Culinary Sabotage Adventure

Introduction

Greetings to all! We are Matías Sánchez, Constanza Vera, Maribel Escobar, and María Acuña, a team passionate about cooperative games and friendly competition. We firmly believe that games promoting cooperation and competition can strengthen bonds among people. Hence, we are excited to work on a thrilling project that blends these two dynamics in a unique and fun setting. Our game, titled "Lethal Food," invites players to dive into a fun-filled culinary chaos where cooperation and sabotage intertwine with every order.

 Inspiration and The Idea

Inspired by the dynamics of "Among Us" and our love for food, we've conceptualized a unique cooking game. In it, two players take on opposing roles: a chef intent on sabotage and a waiter striving to uphold the restaurant's reputation by correctly fulfilling orders. This twist on traditional cooking games introduces an extra layer of strategy and fun, ensuring laughs and memorable moments among friends.

Our Progress So Far

Since the beginning of our project, we've been hard at work establishing our game's foundation:

- Game Environment: The kitchen and tables now serve as both obstacles and interactable objects, adding depth and strategy to player movement and planning.

- Game Mechanics:We've implemented a login system with role selection, allowing players to choose between being the sabotaging chef or the heroic waiter from the start.

- Basic Interactions:Players can move using the WASD keys and pick up objects with the E key. We're still refining how objects are displayed and dropped in the game.

Current Focus

Our immediate goal is to enhance object interaction. We want to ensure that when a player picks up an object, it's properly displayed on their character and can be intuitively dropped. Perfecting this aspect is crucial for gameplay and immersion.
