Milestone 1🩸🔪🥟

Here is our Milestone 1's devlog, who´s contents will help in understanding the concept and mechanics of our game thoroughly:

Game Concept: Our game is set in a culinary environment where players assume two main roles: the chef and the waiter. The core of the game revolves around sabotage and detection. The chef, in an intriguing twist, attempts to sabotage the restaurant by sending out dishes that will displease the guests. On the other hand, the waiter is tasked with the critical job of identifying and discarding these dishes before they reach the customers. This role-play creates a competitive and cooperative dynamic, where players must think and act quickly to fulfill their opposing objectives.

Innovative Mechanics: The central mechanic of the game is based on perception and deception. Each dish prepared by the chef contains subtle visual cues indicating whether it is a sabotaged dish or not. The waiter must observe these details and decide whether to serve the dish or discard it. This mechanic is inspired by the deduction and deception used in games like "Among Us," where the player's perception and ability to interpret information correctly are key to success.

Color Palette and Visual Style: The game's color palette consists of pastel tones that offer a pleasing and playful aesthetic, contrasting with the tension of sabotage and detection, adding a unique element to the game's tone. This aesthetic choice not only defines the visual atmosphere but also influences how players perceive and interact with the game.

Story and Theme: While the game is primarily mechanic-driven, there is an underlying story that enriches the experience. The narrative unfolds in a restaurant struggling for its reputation. Players can discover more about the characters and their motivations as they progress through the game, adding depth and a sense of progression to the overall experience.

Inspiration and References: As mentioned earlier, our game takes significant inspiration from popular titles like "Among Us" for its element of deception and "Overcooked" for its frantic cooking gameplay style. These influences are reflected in the gameplay mechanics and how player interaction is structured.

Demo and Assets: For the demonstration, we have developed a basic prototype where we have two cameras and we can play with a selected role.
