Overview

Following our last update where we introduced multiple cameras, a redesigned map, and new interaction mechanics, we have continued to enhance the gameplay with new features and refined mechanics. This devlog outlines our progress and the areas we are currently developing.

Progress and New Features

Timer Enhancement

The timer system introduced in the last milestone is being fine-tuned to align seamlessly with the game's victory conditions. This refinement aims to integrate the timer more effectively with the game's pace and strategic elements.

Client Synchronization and Decision Trees

We have successfully implemented client synchronization to ensure that all players experience the gameplay concurrently without delays. Additionally, decision trees have been developed and integrated to manage the interactions and choices made by clients, enhancing the AI's decision-making capabilities in real-time.

Dish Creation and Waiter Interaction (In Progress)

We are actively developing a feature that allows the chef to create dishes. The waiter will interact with these dishes, deciding whether to serve them or not based on the chef's actions. This interaction is crucial to the sabotage and detection theme of the game, and is still under development to ensure it meets our standards for gameplay and interaction.

Specific Table Mechanics

We have defined unique mechanics for different tables within the game:

  • Table 4: This table features sauces, and it's the only place where the chef can choose an incorrect ingredient without immediate detection.
  • Tables 1, 2, and 3: The choices at Table 1 affect the options available at Tables 2 and 3, adding a layer of strategy regarding where the chef and waiter focus their actions.

Life System for Chef and Waiter

Both the chef and the waiter now have a life system implemented:

  • If the waiter identifies a mistake in the sauce by the chef, the chef loses a life.
  • Conversely, if the waiter serves a dish with a mistake, he loses a life.
  • When a life is lost, the screen's border turns red to indicate the mistake and its consequences. This visual cue enhances the game's feedback and urgency.

Current Focus

Our current efforts are concentrated on completing the development of the dish creation and waiter interaction feature. We are ensuring that it integrates well with the life system and the overall gameplay mechanics. We are also continuously testing to optimize the gameplay experience.

What's Next?

We will continue to develop and enhance the features mentioned above, with a particular focus on testing and balancing. The integration of these mechanics is crucial to providing a seamless and engaging gameplay experience. Your feedback is invaluable, so please share your thoughts and suggestions as we progress.
